Why We Built This Site
Michigan provides several public access routes, yet each answers a different question. Lake County Sheriff and the Detention Center create arrest and booking material. The Trial Court keeps filed charges, court events, and outcomes. MSP CJIC operates ICHAT for the public statewide repository slice, while MDOC and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry cover separate correctional and registration records. This resource brings the verified request steps, public contacts, portal limits, and known fees into one clear reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Official check routes: the differences between an ICHAT name search and an MSP fingerprint self-review
- Record guides: how Lake County criminal court cases are located and read
- Agency contacts: verified channels for the Sheriff, Detention Center, Trial Court, and state systems
- Record relief: how Michigan set-aside and Clean Slate processes connect to the court of conviction
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of any Michigan court, sheriff's office, village, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot issue a certified court file, criminal-history report, or other official record
- We cannot submit a set-aside application, FOIA request, or correction form for a visitor
- We cannot run an official background check or retrieve another person's file
- We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, or court order as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency's hours, fees, or procedures have not changed
An official copy must come from the Lake County custodian, the Trial Court, or MSP CJIC. This resource only points to those source offices.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power some search boxes. They control their products, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. We do not set a partner's charges, compile its results, or replace the official Lake County and Michigan record custodians.
